Collin County is located near Dallas, Texas. According to the Collin County’s official website the estimated population for 2012 was 812,226 people, making it the 6th most populous county in Texas. Based on stats from the U.S. Census Bureau, Collin County is made up of 61.8% Caucasian, 15% Hispanic or Latino, 12% Asian, and 9.2% African-American. While the city of McKinney serves as the county seat, Plano is actually the highest populated city with about 272,068 people. The per capita income between 2008 and 2012 was $40,869 and the median household income was $83,193.
Greg Willis is the District Attorney of Collin County in Texas. Willis is a fifth-generation Texan; he graduated from Baylor University and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia's School of Law. After obtaining his law degree in 1991, Willis began working for the renowned law firms of Haynes & Boone and Jones Day. During the mid-to-late 90's, Willis was serving Collin County as a prosecutor for both misdemeanor and felony cases. By 1999, Willis had decided to establish his own law firm in Plano, Texas. In 2005, Willis was appointed by the Collin County commissioners to be the first judge of the Collin County Court at Law No. 6. One year later, Willis successfully regained the position unopposed.
In the fall of 2009, Willis decided to resign from his position as Judge of Collin County Court at Law No. 6 in order to run for election as the Collin County Criminal District Attorney. Willis was elected to the office in 2010. Greg Willis has been twice selected by his peers as a "Texas Superlawyer®" in the publication, Texas Monthly. He has also served as president of the Collin County Bar Association.
