California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 1772 generally allows for people who have been honorably discharged from control by the Youth Authority Board to petition the court to set aside the verdict of guilty and dismiss the accusation or information against them. The petition must be made at the court where the person was committed. Once the verdict is set aside, the petitioner will be released from most penalties and disabilities resulting from the offense for which the person was committed. This includes possible disqualification for a job or license. There are some limited exceptions to this depending upon your age and the nature of your offense.
